About Mary Elene Wood

Mary Wood is Professor of English and Director of Graduate Studies in English at the University of Oregon. She works in health humanities. disability studies, queer studies, and 19th- and 20th- century American literature. Her research projects include one that examines representations of the brain in mid-20th-century literature and science and another, a collaborative archive-based study, that focuses on Portland's Morningside Hospital as a case study in American psychiatry from 1940-1965.
